SOUTH VINEMONT, Ala. – The South Vinemont Town Council on Tuesday evening discussed several area events.
Mayor Reggie Dodson expressed his excitement for the continued success of the town’s monthly senior citizen events, where the seniors gather on the third Monday of each month at the Vinemont Community Center for fellowship and a meal.
“It’s a great thing for the community,” Dodson smiled.
The council also continued discussing plans for the upcoming South Vinemont Chillin-N-Grillin BBQ Fest, which will be held Oct. 21. It hopes to finalize event details soon.
Upcoming events include:
- Vinemont alumni baseball game: Saturday, July 15, at 7 p.m. at Mike Cupp Field at Vinemont High School
- Senior citizen event: Monday, July 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center
- Vinemont Freedom Fest: Friday, Aug. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Vinemont High School
The following agenda items were approved:
- Accept June financials
- Adopt a reservation form for Walking Trail/Art Park Pavilion
- Fees for the South Vinemont Chillin-N-Grillin BBQ Fest vendors, competitors for BBQ cook-off and car show
Budget for Freedom Fest back-to-school event in the amount of $2,000
