Fairview High esports team hosts tournament fundraiser

FAIRVIEW, Ala. – The Fairview High School esports team on Saturday, July 8, hosted a fundraiser tournament at Green Brothers Comics in Arab.

Winners included:

James Gilmer came in first place, winning a cash prize and a free Nintendo Switch game of his choice

Cayden Maddox came in second place, winning a cash prize and a Midas Burger gift card

Marco McDonald took third place, winning a cash prize and a Sierra’s Mexicanisimo gift card

Coy Mier got fourth place, winning a cash prize and a Nintendo gift card

Owen Harris got fifth place, winning a Milner’s Dairy Delight gift card and a free car wash from Parkers Car Wash

All 36 people who entered got a coupon for a free waffle from Waffle House. The Fairview High School esports team took home $156 in donations.

A statement provided by Jeremy and Lynn Green, owners of Green Brothers Comics, said, “We couldn’t be happier with today’s turnout and we are beyond grateful for everyone’s support. Being able to host these kind of tournaments (is) something we have always enjoyed doing and now being able to do so at our own shop is a dream. So thank you to those of you who brought their kids to play, showed up to check out the store, or just came to hang out.”
