CULLMAN, Ala. – Members of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) along with Sheriff Matt Gentry on Thursday, June 1, hosted a community meeting at the Sacred Heart Church Family Life Center.
The goal of these meetings, held at various locations throughout the county, is to give people a chance to talk to their local law enforcement officers.
“Most importantly, this gives the community an opportunity to talk to their deputies, answer the questions about what’s going on, what we are doing, and address any issues or problems that we see,” Gentry stated.
The deputies talk about some of the projects and programs the CCSO offers, such as Project LifeSaver and the Yellow Dot Program, and are also available for one-on-one conversations. According to Gentry, a benefit is that this gives people a chance to ask questions that they may be apprehensive about asking in a group setting.
And, food is always provided by the CCSO.
“I’ve found that if you have food, people will come,” Gentry joked.
Community meetings are held at various times and locations during the year. For more information, contact the CCSO at 256-734-0342.
