John Costin, age 53, of Double Springs, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born February 5, 1970 in Florida. This is where he met his wife, Dana. They were married on May 20, 1989. They moved to Alabama, and eventually made their loving home in Double Springs. He owned a successful construction business for 35 years. He enjoyed drag racing, being on the lake, fishing, cooking, and riding on razors with friends. He was a huge football fan and spent many Saturdays pulling for his favorite team, the Florida Gators.
Out of all his interests, John most enjoyed spending time with the people he loved. He always looked forward to vacations and holidays with his loved ones. He considered himself extremely blessed to be “Paw Paw” to five beautiful granddaughters that he adored.
Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Black Pond Community. Pastor Drew Robbins will officiate the service.
John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dana Costin; children, Nick (Lynsey) Costin, Cory (Cameron) Costin, and Ashley (Jake) Doss; grandchildren, Willow, Brynleigh, Livy, Dani Lynn, and Avie; siblings, Leanne (Lou) Marello and Greg Costin; mother and father in law, John and Debbie Spencer; sisters in law, Resha (Jeff) Daugherty and Stephanie Mann; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several friends that are considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delvin and Margaret Costin; grandmother, Catherine Costin; grandparents in law, Bill and Joan Waters; and nephew, Ryan Satcher.
