Ernest Phillip Guthery, 73, of Crane Hill, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1949 in Cullman, Alabama. He was an outdoorsman, loved gardening, tinkering and taking care of his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was also stationed in Germany. Upon returning, he met the love of his life Judy and this began the story they wrote together. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Guthery; daughters, Cassandra (Jeff) Witt, Angie Guthery, Michelle (Enrique Lopez) Guthery and Shannon Hampton; sister, Bea Aaron; brother, Henry Guthery; grandchildren, Brett, Devon, Tiffany, Dylan, Isaac, Brianna, Johnathan, Preston, Chase, Jesse and Ashley and great-grandchildren, Arabella, Elijah, Gabriella, Ezra, Nate, Gavin, Sophia, Everly and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Guthery and Elizabeth Gallimore Guthery; his brother, Bill Guthery and his son-in-law, Josh Hampton.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home; interment will follow in Prospect Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
