Carolyn Sue Sivley, age 79, of Cullman, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at home. She was born December 23, 1943 in Muncie, Indiana to Norman and Jane Rutledge. Merrim-Webster’s Dictionary defines a caregiver as “a person who provides direct care (as for children, elderly people, or the chronically ill). All who knew her would argue that no one would better fit and expand on that definition than Carolyn. The majority of her life was spent taking care of and touching the lives of others. She has taken part of impacting the lives of many in this community through her efforts as a certified nursing assistant and private caregiver. Carolyn’s greatest joy, other than her grandchildren and the beach, was to serve and take care of those around her.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Robin (John) Childers, Robert “Bobby” (Wanda), and Rhonda Davis; grandchildren Stephanie (Aaron) Campbell, Jeremy Sivley, Dylan (Kayla) Peck, Tameka (Jonathan) King, Amanda (Tim) Garner, Kalie Faulk, Jamie (Adam) Sivley, Dalton Peck; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sivley, and her son, Randall “Randy” Sivley.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. with a private viewing for family from 10 a.m. until 10:30 am.
