CULLMAN, Ala. –The scene was buzzing with the sounds of gravel crunching under the judges’ feet, the scent of barbecue from Little Lu’s food truck and paint jobs gleaming in the sun on dozens of new and classic cars lined up in the parking lot of Christ First Ministries Church Saturday. Its second annual Car and Truck Show was organized as an opportunity to reach out to the community, share the gospel and allow for some family fun in celebration of warm weather rolling in.
Awards given included first, second and third places in the car and truck categories, along with people’s choice and pastor’s choice, with cash and trophies doled out in all categories.
Greg Fulmer, organizer of the event and member of the men’s ministry at Christ First Ministries, said he was proud to see the show grow from last year’s inaugural event.
“This is a great turnout; we had around 20 last year and have more than doubled that this year,” he said.
Fulmer said the show was more than just a community get-together; registration fees will go toward missionaries that Christ First Ministries supports in areas around the country and world, including Texas, Africa and Guatemala, just to name a few.
