PREP BASKETBALL: Good Hope’s Maddox, Cold Springs’ Dickerson earn 1st team All-State honors; Arab’s Kitchens named 5A Coach of the Year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its All-State awards Sunday morning, and the list was packed with local names. Good Hope and Cold Springs standouts Ivey Maddox and Ella Dickerson both earned spots on this year’s 4A and 2A All-State first teams and Arab Head Coach Brad Kitchens was selected as the 5A Coach of the Year after leading the Arabian Knights to the 5A State Finals.

Cullman’s Jake Dorough (6A), Arab’s Lily Livingston (5A) and Cold Springs’ Maci Brown (2A) each earned second team honors in their respective classifications and Cullman’s Ava McSwain (6A), West Point’s Liberty Shadix (5A), Fairview’s Kobe Payne (5A), Good Hope’s Bailey Tetro (4A), Good Hope’s Colton Lindsey (4A), Hanceville’s Brayden Harris (4A), Holly Pond’s Kollin Brown (2A) and Addison’s Gracie Manley and Brady Gilbreath (1A) landed on their respective All-State third teams.

Cullman’s Tucker Cagle, Arab’s Bryleigh Bodine and Meek’s Jarrett Benson each earned honorable mentions as well.
