CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Community Young Singers is experiencing a revitalization. Director Cindy Pass said her passion for starting the program in 2019 was born out of melding her music education and early childhood education backgrounds, as well as filling the need for more choral and performance programs in the community.
The program focuses on teaching classical choral and performance skills as well as acting as a mentorship opportunity between younger and older singers. Most importantly to Pass, however, is building a sense of community. She made sure to note that Cullman Community Young Singers is not restricted to just Cullman proper.
“Kids are coming from locations all over the community… city, county and even homeschool,” she said. “It really builds a sense of community for everyone.”
Pass was also happy to share that the group will present “A Concert in the Park” Saturday, April 8, at noon at Art Park.
The group meets every Tuesday from 3:30-4:45 p.m. at The Little House at Art Park. It is currently accepting singers ages 8-15.
