CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Public Library will host Teen Tech Week: 3Doodlers 3D Printing Pens today, Tuesday, March 7, at 3 p.m. This is a one-hour program for teens in which they can create a 3D design using a special 3D printing filament pen (3D printing on a smaller scale).
Almost every engineering field, even in medicine, uses 3D printing; it is used to create automobile parts, special screws used in surgical procedures, and also works of art. These are all areas in which 3D printing will continue to be needed and used.
Cullman County Public Library Circulation Manager Laura Benton said, “We believe this is a great STEM project because it teaches creativity, problem-solving and planning. We welcome teens to participate. We have enough supplies to go around. If there is enough interest, we hope to pursue more STEM-related projects in the future with our teens.”
