CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has made multiple arrests over the past several days.

On Feb. 27, CCSO investigators and the CCSO Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the Hanceville area.

According to the CCSO, Michael Shane Hudson, 48, was found at the residence, and a significant amount of methamphetamine, approximately 14 oz. worth around $2,000, was recovered. Hudson was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking. He is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.

Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said, “Getting drugs off the street continues to be a major point of emphasis for the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, especially when it comes to those supplying it for others. We will continue to do whatever we can to make Cullman County a safe place for our citizens.”

On Feb. 28, deputies assisted the Hartselle Police Department with a vehicle pursuit that entered Cullman County on U.S. Highway 31. During the pursuit, the driver of the suspect vehicle allegedly intentionally struck a CCSO deputy’s vehicle, causing both to crash.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jerry Lucky, 64, of Hartselle. Lucky was treated at an area hospital and released into custody. The deputy involved in the crash was uninjured. Lucky was charged with attempting to elude and aggravated assault of a police officer. He was released on March 1 on a $13,000 bond.

On March 1, deputies responded to a report of a fire at a residence in Good Hope. Justin Dale Hamby, 30, of Hanceville, allegedly started a fire underneath the residence. The occupants of the residence were able to extinguish the fire, and no one was injured. However, the fire did damage the structure underneath the residence.

Hamby was located by deputies a short distance from the residence and arrested. He was charged with arson and is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.
