Graveside service for Dewey Glenn Bates, age 82, of Falkville, will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Cullman City Cemetery with Charles Sinyard officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bates passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1940, to Marion Arthur Bates and Frances Chloe Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mickey Kirch.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne Gibson Bates; sons, Clay (Robin) Bates and Steve (Mary) Bates; daughters, Glenda Bates and Jennifer Bates; grandchildren, Mindy Sheppard, Jamie Cisco, Britney Bates, Nicholas Bates, and Maggie Bates; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Castleman, Maliyah Hill, and Kamryn Cisco; and brothers, Thomas Bates and Wayne (Dot) Bates.
