ADDISON, Ala. – The Addison Lady Bulldogs hosted their county rival Lynn Lady Bears and it was a fairly even game except for one inning. Lynn sent fourteen girls to the plate and scored ten runs, two of them earned, in the second inning and then coasted to a 15-3 victory.

Both teams went scoreless in the first inning. The floodgates then opened for the Lady Bears as timely hits and Addison fielding errors doomed the Lady Dawgs. The first two Lady Bears reached base, on an error and a hit batter. A groundout scored Gracie Jordan from third giving Lynn the 1-0 lead. Alli Dutton lined a single which scored Bella Harper making the score 2-0. Anna Hosler singled and that was followed by an Allie Stewart double which brought home Dutton. Another Dawg error and an Amy Barton single scored Hosler. Kamri Tittle singled home Stewart and Dutton giving Lynn a 7-0 lead with still only one out in the 2nd. Two more Bulldog errors allowed Barton to score. Joley Sims had an rbi groundout and Dutton got her second hit of the inning and her second rbi of the inning as the lead was pushed to 10-0 and that was how the top of the second ended.

Addison threatened in their half but couldn’t answer as “Mack” Carter singled and Ayden Stewart singled but the Lady Dawgs were unable to plate any runs.

Addison finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third. Trailing 10-0, Lainey Jo Evans reached on an error and went to second base on a Haley Walker sacrifice. Kaylie Calloway drilled a double to right centerfield scoring Evans to put the Bulldogs on the board. Annabeth Powell, a seventh grader, followed Calloway’s double with one of her own scoring Calloway. Addison now trailed 10-2.

The score stayed the same until the top of the fifth. Hosler walked, Stewart and Molly Pate singled loading the bases. Barton laid down a sacrifice scoring Hosler. Tittle singled scoring Stewart. After a force out, Gracie Jordan singled. Bella Harper then absolutely destroyed a pitch plastering it over the left center field fence for a no doubt three run home run. That shot gave the Lady Bears a commanding 15-2 lead.

Addison never quit and Walker led off the Lady Dawgs fifth with a single. Two outs later, Walker was on second when Powell stroked a single scoring Walker. After a strikeout, then game ended and the final score was 15-3.
