VINEMONT, Ala. – Everyone is invited to join in the Second Annual Christian Hart Memorial Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Vinemont Elementary School gymnasium. Registration begins at noon, and the competition will begin at 1 p.m.
Registration will be $30 per team in the Social Division, where house bags will be used and you may bring your own partner. The Competitive Division will be $40 per team, and teams may use their own bags and bring their own partners. Both divisions will be double-elimination. A $10 per person Blind Draw will be held after the other divisions.
The tournament’s funds will be donated to Vinemont High School’s Christian Hart Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was founded in the memory of then 12-year-old Christian Hart, a Vinemont student, who died on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in a boating incident on Smith Lake.
“This Saturday is the day we raise money in the memory of Christian Hart,” shared Cullman County Cornhole Club’s Robert Haddix. “Last year we had 80 throwers across both divisions and we hope to make it bigger this year. It doesn’t matter if you have ever thrown a cornhole bag; we have a place for you to play and help raise money. Raising money for great causes is where it all started for us and it is still the most important part to us.”
