Obituary: Hunter Stanley

Hunter Stanley entered the gates of heaven on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023 at the age of 30. Hunter was a resident of Cullman, Alabama. He was born on March 30, 1992 in Birmingham, Alabama to Barry Dwayne Stanley and Tonnia Lynn Maddox Stanley.

He was a graduate of Hayden High School, later he attended Wallace State Community College where his studies were in Business. He decided that college was not the place for him, so he joined, like the men in his family, the military. He served in the United States Army for four years, until being medically discharged, serving in the Kuwait. He enjoyed his friends and fellow gamers at video games, syfy and Magic the Gathering. Hunter was also a tribal member of the North East Alabama Cherokee Tribe, following his ancestral roots.

Hunter’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Ashlyn Stanley; children, Brayden, Ava and Jace Stanley; his mother, Lynn Davis; brothers, Bradley (Larissa) Stanley, Darryl (Destiny) Stanley and Peyton (Addison) Stanley; grandmother, Tonnia Maddox; grandparents, Robert (Sue) Stanley; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Stanley and grandfather, Bill Maddox.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home with graveside services at Alabama National Cemetery – Montevallo at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
