Obituary: Barbara Nell Duke Fallin

Barbara Nell Duke Fallin, of Cullman, Alabama, was welcomed into heaven on Jan. 15, 2023, at the age of 75. Ms. Fallin was born in Randolph County, Alabama, on March 10, 1947, to Auther and Nellie Duke.

Ms. Barbara was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Blountsville, Alabama, where she enjoyed worshiping her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. She enjoyed cooking, liked to bake, and she canned vegetables. Barbara was a talented seamstress and she enjoyed crafting. She also gardened and raised chickens. Barbara enjoyed the handiwork of her Father and was particularly drawn to the beauty of flowers. She loved roses, with yellow roses being her favorite. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Maw Maw. She loved her family and they in turn cherished her. While there is rejoicing that Ms. Barbara is now in the presence of the King of Kings, her passing brings great sorrow for those she leaves behind.

Ms. Fallin is preceded in death by her parents, Auther and Nellie Duke; sisters, Lottie Ruth Curvin, Esther White; brother, William Gay Duke; husband and love of her life, Lonnie Fallin; and son, Tim Fallin.

Survivors include two brothers, W.L. Duke, Basil Duke; sons, Terry (Janet) Fallin, Jeff (Dana) Fallin; grandchildren, Tabitha Fallin, Stacey (Wayne) Day, Shawn (Jessica) Fallin, Bradley (Brooke) Mitchell, Tiffany (Jonathan) Sosebee, Toshia (Jonathan) Dean, Kayla (Ernie) Holmes, Alyssa (Josh) Looney, T.J. (Emily) Fallin, Brady Fallin; great-grandchildren, Cameron (Emilea) Burgess, Rachel Jackson, Blake Burgess, Preston Looney, Joshua Dean, Brantley Holmes, Athena Fallin, Gunnar Fallin, Coty Holmes, Kennedy Looney, Corah Holmes, John David Mitchell, Jackson Dean; and great-great-grandchild, Hazel Burgess.  

Funeral services for Ms. Barbara are 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Duck River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery where Ms. Fallin’s grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday evening, Jan. 20, 2023, in the chapel of Holly Pond Funeral Home from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m.
