SGT Michael Fritz Moore, age 66, of Holly Pond, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Mike loved Jesus, his wife, children, grandchildren, mother, and family. He was dedicated to the work he did for Holly Pond United Methodist Church and Celebrate Recovery. He had an infectious smile that would brighten a room and make everyone around him know that he genuinely loved them.
He retired from CSX Railroad and later began working as a Reserve Officer with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Department. He was an important part of the Cullman Sheriff’s Rodeo every year and will be missed by so many.
Mike is survived by his mother – Louise Moore; wife – Roxann Henry Moore; children – Dude Moore, Kristen Caufield (Ben), Jenny Pennington (Jared), Terry Harbison (Cerri), Patrick Rainwater, and Kalea Mickle; grandchildren – Cade Caufield, Kyleigh Moore, Colt Caufield, Emma Kate Halbert, Rhett Moore, and J.J. Pennington; brother – Randy Moore (Robin); mother of their children – Derlyne Moore; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father – Fritz Moore; and brother – Andy Moore.
Revered Dwight Kidd, Revered Lisa Holmes, and Sheriff Matt Gentry will conduct the funeral service on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Holly Pond United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Blountsville. SGT Moore will Lie-In-Repose, at Holly Pond United Methodist Church, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until Funeral Time. Pallbearers will be – Joe Moody, Andrew Moody, Nathan Horton, Anthony Steele, Lt. Brandon Woods, Lt. Joey Cone, Cpt. Rickey Blackwood, and Reserve Officer Jon Short.
