AUBURN, Ala. – Cullman High School’s Swim Team competed at this year’s AHSAA State Championship Swim Meet at Auburn University over the weekend and among the 10 qualifying Bearcats, all 10 were able to advance to Saturday evening’s finals in at least one event in the 6A/7A division.

During the meet, each Cullman swimmer was able to secure season-best times in their events, including three new school records. Individually, Madison Clements finished under the one-minute mark in the 100-yard butterfly and just under the two minutes in the 200-yard freestyle during Saturday’s finals to break school records in both events.

Additionally, the girl’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ruby Hudson, Anna Page, Morgan Fuller and Madison Clements combined for a time of 1:44.17. Clements, Page and Hudson also posted new school records to cap off stellar senior seasons. Other finalists included Ella Cupp in the 200-yard freestyle, the girl’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mika Lackey (seventh grade), Anna Page, Ella Cupp and Morgan Fuller. The boy’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hilson Cole, Rhett Tysinger, Luke Johnson and Chase Duncan also combined to drop four seconds off of their initial state qualifying time.

Cullman Swim Coach Cory Goble was happy to see his seniors go out on a very high note this weekend.

“This meet’s success represented months of hard work and dedication from a special group of swimmers and a fantastic finish for our three seniors, Anna, Madison, and Ruby.”
