PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Cold Springs’ Edgeworth, Vinemont’s Lemons win state titles, Cold Springs captures 1A-2A State Championship

MOULTON, Ala. – This year’s AHSAA State Cross Country Championships were hosted at the Oakville Indian Mounds in Moulton Saturday morning and a pair of familiar names returned home with state titles. Cold Springs’ Ethan Edgeworth took home this year’s 1A-2A State Championship after posting a blazing time of 15:53.30 and Vinemont’s Ethan Lemons earned this year’s 3A State Championship with another impressive time of 16:05.90.

Edgeworth’s time was also good enough to help lead Cold Springs to this year’s 1A-2A State Championship. Jayden Allred’s second-place finish was also a big factor in the Eagles edging out Hatton to win this year’s state crown.

In the girls’ races, the Cold Springs Lady Eagles placed second just behind St. Luke’s Episcopal thanks in large parts to great finishes by Paizley Whitlow (2^nd), Macie Huffstutler (4^th) and Reagan Parris (5^th). The St. Bernard Saints put together a fifth-place finish in the 1A-2A race and Holly Pond’s Boys earned fifth place in the 3A competition as well.
