Barbara Jo Hart, 74, of Cullman, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 28, 1948, to Doug and Jo Hart who she dearly loved and cared for until their passing. She is survived by her son, David Helms, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Zinsmeister, and her two grandchildren, Noah and Chloe Zinsmeister.
Also surviving are her sisters Dorothy Spruell (Wayne) and Becky Hudson (Michael) and her brother Doug Hart (Ann).
A beloved member of the UAB community for 25 years, Barbara was well-known for her creativity, talents in the kitchen, and wry sense of humor. She painted in acrylics and watercolors and made a mean coconut cake with cherry sour cream filling (her brownies have been baked in kitchens round the world). She kept her beloved friends and family on their toes with her quick-witted antics. Her quiet, unshakeable faith in God was a true comfort to all who knew her.
A celebration of life funeral service for Barbara will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home, 1901 2nd Ave. N.W, Cullman, AL 35055. A celebration of Barbara’s life reception will follow in the Fireside Room. A graveside service will occur at 4 p.m. at Cullman City Cemetery, 812 9th Ave. S.W, Cullman, AL 35055.
