CULLMAN, Ala. – Members of the 2022-23 Leadership Cullman County class on Thursday held their first monthly tour of Cullman County, this time highlighting the agriculture industry. The session allowed participants to see firsthand the indispensable role that agriculture plays in the local economy and heritage.
While poultry production is still king, Cullman County has diversified with many crops, livestock and markets vital to the economy. With tours at the North Alabama Agriplex, Sullivan Creek Ranch, Festhalle Farmers Market, Steele Orchard, The Butcher – Meat Co. and Man Cave Market, the group witnessed a variety of specialties throughout the community.
Over the next six months, the group will delve into Cullman’s criminal justice system, local government, quality of life, education and economic development. Additionally, they will travel to Montgomery for the opportunity to meet with local delegates and industry leaders.
