ARLEY, Ala. – After another dominant performance on the road at Vina last week, the Tigers returned home Friday night for their final regional matchup of the regular season against Cherokee. Like last week’s game, Meek was in control of this one from start to finish and remained unbeaten after routing Cherokee 69-8.

A 50-yard touchdown pass from Bradigan Farmer to Jarrett Benson put the Tigers in front 7-0 just one minutes into the game and not long after that, Blake Miller punched one into the end zone from a yard out to make it 14-0. Meek continued to pour it on, extending its lead to 26-0 midway through the first with a 1-yard touchdown run by Ory Frith and a scoop-and-score from Ethan Pounds.

Touchdown runs of 55 and 32 yards by Cam Deaver put the Tigers in front 38-0 late in the opening quarter and his third touchdown of the night made it a 44-0 game with a minute left to play in the first. Frith scored on a 20-yard run early in the second to stretch the lead to 50-0 and Deaver’s fourth touchdown of the game, this time from 12 yards out, gave Meek a 56-0 advantage with seven minutes to play in the half. Carsen Davenport then found the end zone from 28 yards out and the Tigers went into the locker room with a commanding, 63-0 lead at the halftime break.

With the quarters shortened and the clock running in the second half, both teams were scoreless in the third, but Meek’s final touchdown of the night came in the fourth quarter on a 17-yard run by Brady Baxter, wrapping up a 69-8 win for the Tigers.

Meek’s impressive 2022 season remains perfect after nine games and the Tigers will be on the road next week to finish the regular season against Oakman before returning home to host the opening round the 1A State Playoffs Nov. 4.
