CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Fair, a premier county event recognized throughout the region as one of the South’s best, returns Thursday evening, Oct. 6, at 5 p.m. with its opening ceremony. The fair is officially a “senior citizen,” celebrating its 68th year under the Cullman Lions Club’s leadership at the club’s best estimate.
Fair hours and highlights (according to the online calendar as of Oct. 5) include:
Thursday, Oct. 6 5-10 p.m.
- Tiny and Petite Fair Princess Pageant at the Coca-Cola Theater at 7 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 7 5-10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 8 2-10 p.m.
- Miniature horse show in Tri Green Arena at 6 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 9 2-10 p.m.
- Youth pet show in 157 Tractor Co. Arena at 6 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 10 noon-10 p.m.
- Student Day with free admission for city, county, private and home school students from noon-5 p.m.
- Gates open to regular admission at 5 p.m.
- Sheep and goat shows in 157 Tractor Co. Arena at 6 p.m.
- Little Fair Princess Pageant at the Coca-Cola Theater at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 11 5-10 p.m.
- Youth cattle and cattle judging shows in 157 Tractor Co. Arena at 6 p.m.
- Miss Cullman County Fair Queen Pageant at the Coca-Cola Theater at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 12 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-10 p.m.
- Senior Citizens Day with free admission to area seniors from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Entertainment and senior contests at the Coca-Cola Theater from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Gates open to regular admission at 5 p.m.
- Youth horse show in 157 Tractor Co. Arena at 6 p.m.
- Junior Fair Princess Pageant at Coca-Cola Theater at 7 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 13 5-10 p.m.
- Open cattle show in 157 Tractor Co. Barn at 6 p.m.
- Teen Fair Princess pageant at the Coca-Cola Theater at 7 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 14 5-10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 15 2-10 p.m.
It should be noted that each night’s closing time of 10 p.m. depends on attendance.

Admission for ages 10 and older is $7, plus the cost of rides. Children younger than 10 will be admitted for free, but rides will not be free. Unlimited ride passes, not including admission, will be available at the gate for $25 Monday-Thursday and $30 Friday-Sunday. All-in-One passes, which include admission and unlimited rides will be available until Thursday, Oct. 6 at noon. These passes are available at all Peoples Bank locations and at the Fair Office at 1501 Sportsman Lake Road NW.
The Cullman Lions Club, founded in 1954, works tirelessly each year bringing the Cullman County Fair to the fairgrounds. Proceeds are contributed toward Alabama Lions Sight, which provides free vision care in schools and towns to indigent residents of Alabama and to many local nonprofit agencies helping those in need in Cullman County.
