CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism recently announced a new four-part learning and make-and-take series called Healthy Foundations. The organization is teaming up with local herbalist and owner of Griffin Family Farms, Marisa Griffin, who will instruct classes each Tuesday in October to teach ways to make and use natural ingredients in everyday products.
Griffin stated, “Our Healthy Foundations series came about because of a desire to empower our community with the knowledge they need to simplify life and save money along the way. As an herbalist and an educator, the way I fulfill this is by sharing what I’ve learned about natural products and processes through programs like these. I am so excited to be partnering with Parks and Rec for this four-part series!”
Classes will take place at The Little House at Art Park on Tuesday nights at 6. The registration cost is $10 per person.
Classes include:
- Self-Care – Natural Lip Balm (Oct. 4)
- Family Care – Natural Bug Spray (Oct. 11)
- Home Care – Natural Cleaning Products (Oct. 18)
- Skin Care – Natural Face Mask (Oct. 25)
Participants will get hands-on experience and valuable information on how to switch to natural, cost-effective DIY products. Healthy Foundations will be offered to all ages, but any child younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
