DOUBLE SPRINGS, Ala. – The Cold Springs Eagles were back on the road Friday night after hammering Shoals Christian last week but unfortunately, they had less success when they arrived in Double Springs to take on Winston County. The Eagles were held out of the end zone for all four quarters and the Yellow Jackets were able to collect a 24-0, region win.
The Yellow Jackets took an 8-0 lead early in the opening quarter and that score held going into the second. Winston County managed to score twice in the second quarter to stretch its lead to 24-0 going into the halftime break.
Neither team was able to get on the board in the second half and Cold Springs returned home with a 24-0 regional loss.
The Eagles fall to 3-4 with the loss and they’ll be back on the road next week for another regional matchup at Aliceville.
