CLEMENTS, Ala. – Holly Pond hit the road to kick off the 2022 season at Clements Friday night and after a slow first half, the Broncos were able to put some points on the board, but they couldn’t quite keep up with the Colts and Holly Pond returned home with a 48-34 loss.

Clements score midway through the first quarter to jump ahead with a 6-0 lead, but the Broncos answered right away to tie the game at 6 early. However, the Colts were able to respond and pull back in front 18-6 before Holly Pond punched another one into the endzone to make it an 18-12 game late in the second quarter.

Following the halftime break, the Broncos and Colts traded scores to keep Clements in front 26-20 midway through the third quarter. The Colts maintained a 40-28 advantage with just over eight minutes remaining in the game. Holly Pond was able to find the endzone one more time before the clock ran out, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Colts and the Broncos fell on the road in their season opener 48-34.

Holly Pond will be back home to host a county rivalry matchup against Cold Springs.
