Obituary: Armando Anthony DeMarco Sr.

Armando Anthony DeMarco Sr. of Cullman, Alabama passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Armando best known as Mony, was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. 

Armando was born October 29, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio where he resided for many years with his Italian immigrant parents and siblings.

Armando became a Golden glove boxer finalist in the state of Ohio and turned pro for a few years, he then served in the US Army for four years and graduated Armored School in 1954 while stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky

Armando continued to further his education by graduating Mechanical School and later started several Mechanic and repair businesses.

In 1979 Armando moved his family to Cullman, Alabama where they have resided for 47 years.

Armando is proceeded in death by his father: Giuseppe DeMarco, his mother: Mary Immaculate Garreffa; along with his brothers and sisters; and his granddaughter Katrina Wilson.

He is survived by his wife: Leona Mary Maughn (Sally) of 60 years; his 6 children: Mary Chambers, Sharon DeMarco Lee, Armando (Mony) DeMarco Jr., Tina Wilson, Traci Goodwin and Mary Kathryn Campbell; 15 grandchildren: Maria Chambers, Timothy (Tim) Chambers, Anthony Chambers, Christina Rimes, Christopher (Chris) Chambers, Alison Campbell, Missy Campbell, Samantha Bolser, Amanda Carter DeMarco, Daniel Skinner, Amber Skinner Lotero, Terra Skinner, Rebecca Cloer and Ana Wilson, along with a host of Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Armando (Mony) Anthony DeMarco Sr. will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Cullman, AL on August 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at the Catholic Cemetery.
