Evelyn Louise Horton, 82, of Holly Pond, Alabama, entered into the arms of her loving Father on July 28, 2022. She was born to Sherman King and Irene Pearl Harris Jones on August 23, 1939, in Cullman County, Alabama.
Ms. Horton was a devoted member of Center Point Baptist Church and she enjoyed reading and crocheting. Evelyn devoted around twenty years of her life to the children of Holly Pond School. She worked tireless hours cooking and serving breakfast and lunch to hungry members of the Bronco family. Evelyn was a mother and mee-maw, and she adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. While our hearts rejoice that Evelyn is with her Savior, we will miss her greatly until we are reunited with her.
Ms. Horton is preceded in death by her parents; husband: J.C. Horton; sons: Timothy Horton, Randal Wayne Horton, Chris Anthony Horton; and her brothers.
She is survived by her daughter: Michelle Horton Shutt (David); grandchildren: Chris Camp, David Shutt, Ashley Shutt, Shane Horton (Brittany), Josh Horton (Lindsey), Nikki Horton, Matthew Horton; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Horton are 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, at Center Point Baptist Church, Bro. Jeff Folds officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the Horton family from 2:00 p.m., until services begin. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery where Evelyn’s grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
