Obituary: Ann Warren

Curtis Ann Warren, age 85 of Arley, passed away July 28, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 5, 1936, to Curtis and Bertha Mae Hicks-Blackston.

Ann enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. There was nothing like her fried apple pies! Ann served her Lord faithfully for many years. She attended Arley First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, WMU Director, GA Director, and kept the Nursery. Ann saw many of the children she taught over the years grow up to be teachers and workers for Christ.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Arley First Baptist Church, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Dr. Roger White will officiate.

Ann is survived by her sons: Jimmy Warren and Timothy Warren; daughters: Marsha Hutchison and Beverly Norris; grandsons: Wes Brown, James Warren, Eric Williams, Curtis Williams, and Jacob Hutchison; great grandchildren: Liam Brown, Lexi Brown, Avery Williams, Cooper Williams, Major Williams, Annabelle Williams, Jaylee Warren, and Haven Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Curtis and Bertha Blackston; brother: Jerry Blackston; sisters: Melba Piper, Margie Manuel, Judy Harvell, and Dot Bradley; son: Johnny Warren; and great granddaughter, Zoe Jade Williams.

Pallbearers will be Clint Jewell, Colten Jewell, Jacob Hutchison, Wes Brown, Curtis Williams, Jim Hutchison, Davis Hutchison, and James Warren.
