Obituary: Imogene Knop Hopper

Funeral Service for Imogene Knop Hopper, age 92, of Eva, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Bethel United Methodist Church; interment in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hopper passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at her home. She was born August 28, 1929, in Baileyton, Alabama, to John and Ruth Knop.

She has and will always be known as a sweet, kind, and hard-working person. She worked alongside her late husband, Jack Hopper, for 52 years to create several businesses in the Eva community. Her motto was that hard work never hurt anyone, and she lived by that all of her life. When she wasn’t working, she was cooking for the family or someone in the community. Her hard work and dedication to loving friends are two traits by which she will always be remembered. She will be missed greatly by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Ruth Knop; her loving husband of 65 years: Jack Hopper; brother: George “Cricket” Knop; and sister: Elizabeth (J.L.) Chambers,

Survivors include her daughter: Janice (Larry) Smith; son: Mike (Jimmie) Hopper; grandsons: Joel (Tracey) Smith and Eric (Brooke) Smith; granddaughters: Tiffani (Kerry) Twilley, Valerie (Jared) Long, and Lindsay Smith (Alex Childers); great-grandsons: Jackson Smith, Taylor Smith, Connor Twilley, Cooper Smith, and Deakon Long; great-granddaughters: Ava Long, Madison Smith, EllaRae Twilley, and Emersyn Twilley; brothers, Del (Betty) Knop and Frank (Donna) Knop.
