Gerald Lee Bredeson, age 83, of Falkville, Alabama passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Gerald was born January 26, 1939, in Willmar, MN to Phyllis Anderson Bredeson and Louis B. Bredeson.
Mr. and Mrs. Bredeson were married on September 3, 1982. Gerald attended Appleton High School where he excelled in basketball. After he graduated in 1956, he enlisted in The U.S. Army as a Military Police. Mr. Bredeson was an active member of Hamby’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Lion’s Club and Elk’s Lodge. Mr. Bredeson was extremely fond of every one of his grandchildren (great and great great). One of his passions was spending time at the ballfield, or court and any chance he had with his great grandchildren. Mr. Bredeson enjoyed being on the golf course, come rain or shine. He was an outstanding man in the community and was loved by many.
Gerald is survived by his wife: Gwyn Edmondson Bredeson; his sons: Jeff Bredeson and Reggie Hale; his daughter: Starla Hamlett; his brothers: Chuck Bredeson, Bill Bredeson and Dave Bredeson; his granddaughters: Taylor (Jeremy) Cone, Tiffany (Dustin) Swann and Hannah Cato; his grandson: Josh (Leah) Bredeson; great grandchildren: Aden, Carter, Heidi, Ellieanna and Rosalynn Cone, Emmalyn and Titan Swann, Chloe Hill, Josh, Jordan, Maci, Kendall and Brindley Bredeson; great great grandchild: Asher Bredeson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter: Rita Hale; his father: Louis B. Bredeson; his mother: Phyllis Anderson Bredeson; his sister: Mary Beth Torrey.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Moss Service Funeral Home, 1901 2nd Avenue NW, Cullman, Alabama 35055. A lie in state will occur Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hamby’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 8360 Co. Rd. 1435, Vinemont, AL 35179. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Hamby’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 8360 Co. Rd. 1435, Vinemont, AL 35179. An interment will occur Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Hamby’s Chapel Cemetery, 8360 Co. Rd. 1435, Vinemont, AL 35179.
