GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope’s City Council held its second July meeting at Good Hope City Hall Monday night and approved a resolution to rename one of the city’s roads. The Council approved Resolution No. 015-2022 which renames the portion of Calvert Road that runs North from Good Hope Baptist Church to the stop sign at Hathcock Road to James Calvert Road.
Resolution No. 015-2022 – A Resolution to change a portion of a street named Calvert Road to James Calvert Road
“Whereas, Calvert Road is the official name of an existing public street in the City of Good Hope; and intersects in a loop with an existing public street with the same name; and Whereas, the City of Good Hope desires to assist residents on the portion of street at these coordinates: 34*06’46.7”N 86*52’31.2”W to 34*06’08.6”N to 86*52’32.8W. This has been requested by citizens for more efficient addresses for emergency personnel as well as shipping addresses to eliminate confusion in this area”
“Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Good Hope, Alabama as follows:
- That the existing public street presently named Calvert Road that makes a turn onto a street with the same name, in order to alleviate do hereby rename that portion of the street North side, 34*06’46.7”N 86*52’31.2”W to South side, 34*06’08.6”N to 86*52’32.8”W, to James Calvert Road, Cullman, AL 35057
- And that the City of Good Hope notify the Cullman Post Office, Cullman County E911, and any other agencies affected by this name change
The Council also approved the surplus of a 2016 John Deer tractor
The City of Good Hope’s annual Back to School Bash will be Thursday, July 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Municipal Park. The Good Hope City Council will hold its next meeting Monday. Aug 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall.
