ULLMAN, Ala. – Volunteer Donna Ruttkay of the Cullman County Animal Shelter shares this week’s Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week: Sophie!
Freckled-faced, brown-eyed girl, Sophie is a 1-1.5-year-old Anatolian/hound mix. Her breeds are known to be loyal, reserved and watchful over their people, and this unassuming girl is already a pro at walking on her leash.
Sophie is a low-energy dog who, true to her loyal nature, prefers to be close to her human family and is responsive to their social and training cues.
With her eager to please temperament, Sophie could easily be trained to be an excellent therapy dog and already fits the job description as a companion, hiking and wallowing on the couch with a good book friend.
Last week’s featured pup, Ernie, is still available for adoption. Currently, he enjoys playtime with other dogs and, when it’s time to head back to his kennel, Ernie happily trots into his kennel for some rest and relaxation.
Sophie and Ernie’s adoption fees include DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the vet, microchip and free 30-day health insurance policy issued by 24 PET Watch.
