BREMEN, Ala. – In this interview, I talked to Cold Springs guard/defensive end Zeke White, who will continue his academic and athletic career at Millsaps College.
Zeke talked about some of his favorite football and high school memories.
“My best sports memories was getting to play the sport I love under the Friday night lights and getting the chance to show out in front of my amazing community and getting to do that with a great group of guys,” White said. “Some of my best high school memories will always be homecoming week and getting to play in the game that week. That game just had a special atmosphere like none other and it was always special to take the field that night.”
White continued,
“Two more of my favorite memories will always be Friday night lights and getting to compete in front of the whole school and community and the student sections at basketball games. It was a great time being with some of my very best friends and rooting on our other best friends and bringing an amazing atmosphere for those guys to play in.”
Zeke feels fortunate to have work with some great coaches during his time at Cold Springs and learned a lot from them.
“All throughout my career, every coach that I had was always great people to spend time with every day,” White said. “They always had my back on and off the field and believed in my dreams to play college football. They gave me the tools and knowledge to be able to achieve that. The coaches at Cold Springs High will always have a special place in my heart because because they are some of the biggest reasons that I have been able to achieve what I have done so far and I will always be thankful for the long hours on the field, in the weight room, and the dedication that they have put into throughout my career.”
White talked about what all he’ll miss the most about Cold Springs and offered some advice to those students that are fixing to start high school.
“The thing I will miss most is just being able to get up every day and go to a place with such great people and make lifelong memories,” White said. “Some advice would be live in the moment, slow down every once in a while, and look around because it doesn’t last long.”
