Funeral service for Mitchell Lewis Fortenberry, age 81, of Cullman, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Mt. Olive Church with Rev. Paul Monk and Rev. Chris Kitchens officiating, and burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery. He will lie-in-state at the church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Fortenberry passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1941, in Cullman, AL to Jesse Lewis and Eris Elizabeth Fortenberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Richard “Buddy” Fortenberry.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy Fortenberry; daughter: Tammy (Chris) Carter; son: Mitchell ‘Dewayne’ Fortenberry; daughter: Candie (Gil) Norris; grandchildren: Whitney (T.J.) Bennett, Jordan (Kayla) Carter, Quin Norris and Bryant Norris; sisters: Carolyn Finley, Darlene (Johnny) Quick and Ruby Fortenberry and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
