CULLMAN, Ala. – The 2nd Annual Miss Summer Sunflower and Mr. Summer Sunshine Pageant will be held at Terri Pines Country Club on Saturday, June 4 at 9:00 a.m., and presented by Pageant Particulars Pageant Coaching with Anita Whitlock.
Whitlock explained, “The pageant started as a venue for girls to use their pageant skills in beauty walk. We don’t have interview, stage introduction or fun fashion. Parents and contestants have an option for a pageant with just beauty walk with a beautiful round crown to win.”
The pageant was previously just Miss Summer Sunflower—Mr. Summer Sunshine was added after Whitlock spoke with several mothers who reached out to her to ask that boys were included. Boys up to seven years old are eligible to compete.
She said, “We love seeing the boys have fun. We only have three entered at this time, but the boys are super cute all dressed up when they take the stage.” Boys are judged on personality, outfit, hair, smile and overall presentation. The girls are judged on poise, confidence, dress, hair, smile and overall presentation.
The boys will kick off the pageant, and there will be a crowning after each division. Spectator admission is $5 which can be paid via Venmo @PageantParticulars or PayPal @pageantparticulars
Boys Division-
9:00 A.M. – Baby King (0-23 months)
9:20 A.M. – Toddler King (2-4 Years)
9:45 A.M. – King (5-7 Years)
Girls Division –
10:00 A.M. – Baby Miss (0-23 months)
10:30 P.M. -Toddler Miss (2-4 years)
11:30 P.M. – Tiny Miss (5-7 years)
12:00 P.M. – Little Miss (8-10 years)
1:00 P.M. – Young Miss (11-13 years)
1:30 P.M. – Teen Miss (14-16 years)
2:00 P.M. – Miss (17-19 years)
The photogenic photo 8×10 or 5×7 needs to be turned in at least 30 minutes before the division. Each contestant will receive a tiara or sash, judges’ scorecards and a goodie bag.
No prior experience is needed for the pageant. Contestants must be checked in 30 minutes before his or her division, or the contestant will not be allowed to participate. The registration deadline is 11:59 Friday, June 3, 2022. Each age group has a limited number of 15 participant slots available. A total of 48 contestants are currently signed up.
There will also be crowd favorite votes available at the venue for $1.00 a vote. All funds collected for crowd favorite will be donated to Victoria’s Hope. There are separate, beautiful, crowd favorite crowns for the recipients. Ally Banks will be the crowning queen, and Hanna Hancock will be emceeing the event.
