CULLMAN, Ala. – In the leadup to Memorial Day on May 30, Cullman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2214 has a full slate of activities, including its annual placement of American flags along U.S. Highway 31 and on veterans’ graves in local cemeteries.
Post Commander Brian Monk shared, “There is a quote by Elie Wiesel: ‘Without memory, there is no culture. Without memory there would be no civilization, no future.’ That quote I think now more than ever, given the state of the world, is crucial and that we should find reasons not only to honor and observe the fallen, but come out as a community and fellowship as much as possible.”
