HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Industrial Development (ID) Board met on Thursday night at the Hanceville Civic Center. After the minutes from the April 7 and April 18 meetings were read and approved, updates on two properties were given.

The first property is the old Ward Building located on Hwy 91 between Hwy 31 and I65. Being readied for DB Technologies, the site has HVAC work being completed. The new proprietor, Dr. David Branscomb, will be manufacturing fiber enforced products used in gas, oil, military and automotive industries. “He does high tech products with carbon fiber. He’s built for NASA and bicycles for Lance Armstrong and the Tour de France. If you put it on a 3D printer, he can make it,” shared board member Nolan Bradford.

The second, located on Hwy 91 north of Hwy 31, is being prepared for a wholesale cabinet making company owned by Connie Mack.

ID board member Mary Jo Lakin spoke of the projects stating, “It’s just nice to have new projects. We’ve gone for so long without having anything, no properties and no buildings. Now, we’ve got several things going on.”

The tentative timeline of the purchase of the Sawyer property was also discussed.

ID board members present included Nolan Bradford, Mary Jo Lakin, Sandy Parker, Jeremy Rice, Buddy Perkins and Elaine Perkins.

The ID board meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Hanceville Civic Center. The public is invited to attend.
