Travis Buster Darnell, 88, of Addison, entered into rest on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Travis was born on September 30, 1933 in Addison, Alabama. Travis’ love for his family was like no other and he will be deeply missed. He was an avid football fan and welcomed the football seasons each year. Alabama and Addison were the only two teams in his eyes. Travis was an active member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Mark Kimbrell, Brother Dusty Hood and Jamey Lambert will officiate.
Travis is survived by his sons: Paul Darnell and his wife Brenda, Dewayne Darnell and his wife Debbie and Mikie Darnell and his wife Jennifer; daughters: Judy Stuart, and Janet Wilhite and her husband Jason; brother: Bill Joe Darnell; grandchildren: Jesse Lambert, Jamey Lambert, TJ (Anna) Stuart, Justin Darnell, Heather (Chris) Pointer, Zachery (Kayla) Darnell, Patrick Darnell, Morgan Darnell, Avery Darnell, Travis (Shelby) Darnell III and Maggie (Hunter) Darnell-Hopkins; great-grandchildren: Cy Lambert, Zeb Lambert, Ava Stuart, TK Stuart, Darby Lambert, Lele and Chunk, Ray, Myra and Ian Darnell and Bentley Darnell and siblings: Dyson and Alara Willette.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Youvon Darnell; parents: Richard and Hester Darnell; son-in-law: Tom Stuart; daughter-in-law: Karla Darnell; grandson: Sean Darnell; brothers: Tom and Ivory Darnell and sisters: Hazel, Estelle, Lee, Ruth, Ethel, Nannie and Vivian.
