CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Regional Medical Group marked the official opening of the Center of Excellence Orthopedics and Spine with a grand opening and ribbon cutting Wednesday, April 13. By focusing on a well-coordinated and positive patient experience and evidence-based best practices in orthopedic and spine surgery, the Innovative Center of Excellence is set to provide North Alabama residents with a new option for quality orthopedic and spine surgery.
CEO James Clements stated, “There is the opportunity with this to have your physical therapy, imaging, and if you require surgery, all here on this campus, so you won’t have to run all over town. So, that’s why the hospital made the investment, to enhance customer service and try to give back to a tremendous team of physicians and caregivers here in the hospital in this specialty area.”
Dr. William Smith, Chief Medical Officer, added, “The Center of Excellence is an opportunity to enhance patient service and quality. The technology we have is state-of-the-art. We’re able to utilize the Stryker Mako Robot system. The minimally invasive spinal surgery Dr. Kravetz does is state-of-art surgery that is not available in most places.”
Smith also thanked the team of orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Vincent Bergquist, Phillip Kravetz, David Dueland, Stephen Gould and Steven Fuller who have over 150 years of combined experience. “This is exciting to be able to get these surgeons together and collaborate in this Center of Excellence to improve quality.”
