Farm-City poster winners; committees recognized at luncheon

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Several locals nabbed awards during the Alabama Farm-City Awards Luncheon and Program Thursday in Birmingham.

Maggie Phillips of Good Hope Elementary School in Cullman County won fourth place in the Alabama Farm-City Poster Contest for Kindergarten-3rd Grade. She was honored at the Alabama Farm-City Awards Luncheon and Program April 7 in Birmingham and received $60 from Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC). Her school also received $60. Marriah Hain of Cullman Christian School in St. Clair County won fourth place in the Alabama Farm-City Poster Contest for 4-6 Grade. The Cullman County Farm-City Committee was named runner-up for the Best Farm-City Committee Award in Division 1 at the Alabama Farm-City Awards Luncheon and Program April 7 in Birmingham. The county also earned the Best Farm-City Tour and Scrapbook. For each award, the county committee earned a cash reward Alabama Farm Credit.
