ARCHERY: East Elementary, Vinemont Middle capture State Championships

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Our local teams traveled to Montgomery for this year’s NASP State Championship this week and they returned home with a lot of hardware. East Elementary took home the Elementary title with a score of 3076 and Vinemont Middle School was the champion of its division with after posting a score of 3370, edging out Cullman Middle School who finished second. In the high school division, Vinemont High School earned third place and Cullman High School placed fourth.

Individually, Cullman’s Forrest Calvert was the high school men’s champion, posting an impressive score of 296 with 26 tens. Vinemont’s Alexis Sartin was the high school women’s top scorer, posting a score of 293 with 23 tens and Vinemont’s Caroline Miller was the individual middle school women’s champion after scoring a 293 with 23 tens as well.

Just behind them, Cullman’s Will Bolzle finished second among high school men with a score of 294 and Good Hope’s Mason McCury scored a 291 to place fourth. West Point’s Kendra Case earned third place in the high school women’s competition after scoring a 290 and Cullman’s Samantha Johnson rounded out the top five with a score of 288. Cullman’s Brayden Clark placed second among middle school men after firing a 288 and Vinemont’s Jagger Lee and Tucker Robinson finished third and fourth in the division with scores of 286 and 285, respectively. Cullman’s Maddie Seidel earned a second-place finish in the middle school women’s division after posting a 289 and Vinemont’s Addison Holcomb and Jayden Friedrich placed third and fifth, respectively with scores of 288 and 285. East Elementary’s Carter Robinson and Thatcher Lucas placed fourth and fifth among elementary school men with scores of 267 and 266 and in the girls’ division, East Elementary’s Presley Latham earned second place after posting a 273 and Vinemont’s Alyvia Smith placed fourth with a score of 265.
