CULLMAN, Ala. – This Friday through Sunday, April 8-10, St. Bernard Prep’s Drama department will present “Aladdin Jr.,” a little twist on Disney’s popular telling of the tale of an orphaned “street rat” who is offered three wishes by a genie. With his heart set on the love of a princess, Aladdin must balance rising fame and fortune with an ultimate need to be true to who he really is.
“I am extremely proud of the Aladdin cast for several reasons,” said Director Ashleigh Russell. “One is that these kids are so busy with schoolwork, sports, holding down jobs and being involved in their community, but still find time to rehearse several times a week, outside of school, to put on a great show. I am also very proud of this group for coming together to become a team. They range from 7 – 12 grade, and may or may not have known each other before this show. Lastly, I have grown to love these kids as my own and have enjoyed seeing them grow and improve their talents and theatrical skills. They have been open to becoming better and improving and I can’t wait for the community to see them take the stage.”
