Funeral Service for Thurman Huie Ryan, age 95, of Cullman, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Jim Deason officiating, with interment in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ryan passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Cullman Regional. He was born June 18, 1926, to Marcus Wilson and Mary Lou Ryan.
He was the youngest of nine children in his family. During WWII, he joined the Navy in 1944 at the age of 16. He was the youngest brother serving along with his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Mildred Ryan and siblings: Alice (C.J.) Keyes, Truman (Marie) Ryan, Jessie (Lewis) Eddy, Talmadge (Wilda) Ryan, Kathren (Tom) Johnson, Tasker (Gloria) Ryan and Jo (Ralph) Taylor.
Survivors include his son: Larry (Peggy) Ryan; granddaughter: Andy (Terry) Kimbel; grandson: Kevin (Tammy) Ryan; great-grandchildren: Kalah Hicks and Kasey Hicks; great-great-grandchild: Langston Hicks; sister: Faye Williams; sisters-in-law: Melba Stephenson and Ann Murphree; brother-in-law: Billy Hunt and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
