CULLMAN, Ala. – Compton’s Veterinary Hospital has begun taking appointments starting Monday, April 4. They reopened their lobby a few weeks ago to patients after being closed for the last two years of the pandemic. The hospital will still be offering curbside services as per customer requests. A drive-thru window is also available for food and medication pickups. Dr. Rebecca Durham, Dr. Morgan Roberts, and the Compton’s staff posted this statement to social media:
“These past two years have taught us a lot. As we are returning back to as normal as we can, we are making some adjustments to our hospital procedures. We have always seen patients for wellness, sick and technician visits on a first come, first serve basis. We understand how frustrating this can be when you arrive and so many are waiting ahead of your pets.
We are excited to announce we will be transitioning to an appointment system for exams and technician visits beginning Monday, April 4. As time is so precious, we want to make your visits to our hospital the best we can. This will allow us to know in advance your pet’s needs and arrival, provide services and care more efficiently, and minimize your wait times. We will still accept walk-in doctor visits up to 3pm and technician visits up to 5pm as we want to make sure our patients receive the care they need. If patients are sick and need to be seen the same day, we will provide urgent care exams.”
The hospital business hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The times available for doctor appointments are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Office visits include any reason for an examination or consultation. Technician visits include things performed by a vet tech such as nail trims, anal glands and weight checks, etc. which do not require a vet examination.
Under the new system the order of patients being seen will be emergencies first, then appointments and walk-ins. Compton’s also has an app that clients can use to message the hospital to make appointments.
