Alabama-based Morris, King & Hodge, P.C., launches 8th Annual Driver Safety Scholarship Program

The law firm will award a total of $4,200 in scholarships to three students who write outstanding essays on distracted driving.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The law firm of Morris, King & Hodge, P.C., is pleased to announce its 2022 Driver Safety Scholarship Fund essay program to assist deserving students with funds for education while also raising awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.

This year marks the eighth time the law firm has held the program. The firm will award a total of $4,200 in three separate scholarships to the Alabama high school seniors and first-year college students who write winning essays on ways to raise awareness of the hazards of distracted driving and prevent the dangerous practice.

The first-place winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship, the second-place winner will receive $1,200 and $1,000 will be awarded to the third-place winner.

Morris, King & Hodge, P.C. is now accepting scholarship applications and essays from high school seniors and college freshman in the Alabama counties of Dekalb, Franklin, Lawrence, Colbert, Cullman, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan. 

To participate in the program, applicants must submit an original 1,000-word essay on this topic:

“How can we educate our community about the dangers of distracted driving and what are some practical ways we can drastically reduce distracted driving related accidents?”

A panel from Morris, King & Hodge, P.C., and associated parties will judge the submissions on content, correctness of facts, grammar, style and originality. Judges will look for clear, original essays that are logically organized and well-supported.

The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2022. The firm will announce this year’s winners on May 2, 2022.
