CULLMAN, Ala. – The Bearcats collected a lot of hardware throughout this past season on the hardwood, but they aren’t quite done yet. The latest prize to make its way to Cullman this year belongs to Head Coach Stu Stuedeman, who after his first season with the Bearcats has been selected as the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s (ASWA) Class 6A Coach of the Year.

In his first season at Cullman, Stuedeman and the ‘Cats posted a 29-3 record, collected an Area 14 regular season and tournament championship, won the Northwest Regional Championship, advanced to the Final 4 for the first time in 90 years and brought home the first state title in school history.
