Ina Vivian Hunter Cole, 97, of Double Springs, passed away March 14, 2022, at Sylacauga Health and rehab.
Ina was born on May 30, 1924 to Harrison “Bert” Hunter and Lucy Curtis Hunter. Mrs. Cole Was a graduate of Winston County High School and longtime member of the Double Springs, Gadsden and Jacksonville congregations of the Church of Christ. She was married for 66 years. She loved spending time at the lake and reportedly was a better fisherman than her husband. Her favorite times were spent with family. Mrs. Cole was affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Cooking Mama”. The family would like to thank the staff of the Sylacauga Health and Rehab Center where she has lived for the last five years.
Ina was survived by her children: Greg (Joan) Cole and Dorinda (Rick) Waldrop; grandchildren: Jason (Gina) Cole, Ragan (Angelee) Cole, Drew (Ashley) Waldrop and Clay (Alison) Waldrop; great-grandchildren: Xander Cole, Riley Cole, Jackson Cole, Ethan Waldrop, Ben Waldrop, Sam Waldrop and Banks Waldrop and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband: Thomas Leldon “Stork” Cole; parents: H.R. “Bert” and Lucy Hunter; and siblings: Madge Horsley, Trin Chilcoat, Jerl Pearson, Isma Lynn and Curt Hunter.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where a service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery. Vance Hutton will officiate.
