CCSO makes multiple drug-related arrests this week

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office made multiple arrests as a result of drug-related charges over the last few days countywide. 

On Thursday, March 10, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop south of the city of Cullman. 

Cooper Dale Garrison, 21, (pictured above) of Garden City was the driver of the vehicle. Alexis Bethany Marie Villa (19) of Cullman, was the passenger. During a search of the vehicle, paraphernalia was located, and both subjects had narcotics on their person. Both were placed under arrest.

Garrison was charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.    

Villa was charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also on March 10, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Simcoe area. 

Danny Ray Smith, 51, of Albertville, and Anjanette Powers Holmes, 49, of Somerville were inside the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, narcotics and paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Holmes also had narcotics on her person. Both were arrested. 

Smith was charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Holmes was charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Friday, March 11, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Good Hope area. 

Monica Coleen Odell, 41, of Good Hope was the driver. Odell admitted to having meth and paraphernalia in the vehicle. A search yielded the drugs and paraphernalia. 

Odell was arrested and charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Also on Friday, March 11, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Good Hope area. 

During this traffic stop, another vehicle driven by Alexis Valdez, 20, of Vinemont, pulled up next to the deputy’s patrol car. Deputies instructed Valdez to leave, as the traffic stop did not involve him. Valdez refused to comply with the deputies.  

Valdez was placed under arrest and charged with: obstruction of governmental operations.

On Sunday, March 13, CCSO deputies arrived at a residence in the Holly Pond area to serve felony warrants on Bobby Gene Wood, 41. 

Upon arrival, deputies saw Wood flee from the residence on foot. After a short chase, Wood was detained and arrested. 

He was charged with: attempting to elude, attempting to elude (FTA), possession of methamphetamine (2 counts FTA), possession of drug paraphernalia (FTA) and traffic violations (2 counts FTA).

Sheriff Matt Gentry said he is continually proud of the proactive efforts the CCSO deputies make to keep the community safe and drugs off the street.
