ADDISON, Ala. – The Addison Lady Bulldogs hosted the Meek Lady Tigers at Alexander Park in Addison Friday night and came away with a 11-3 victory. Addison improves to 6-6 (2-0 area) on the young season.

The Lady Bulldogs got the first inning off to an excellent start as Senior Anna Grace “The Glove ” Luker took the mound and struck out three of the four batters she faced.

The home half of the first got all the runs the Lady Dawgs would need the entire game. After a catcher’s interference, base hit and a walk, Senior Saige Carter came to the plate and stroked a sharp single to right scoring two runs.  Dacey Baker walked, then Cara Bolinger grounded into a fielder’s choice which scored another run. A strikeout left runners on second and third with two outs and Lydia “Barbie” Ergle drew another walk. Laniey Joe Evans then drew a bases loaded walk to drive in another run and at the end of the first inning, Addison led 4-0.

Luker was dominant in the second frame as she struck out four batters in the inning. The only hit for the Lady Tigers was a mammoth towering home run hit to left center field by Peyton Johnson to put the Lady Tigers on the board. This cut the lead to 4-1.

Addison struck for two more in the second inning. The Luker Cousins, Anna Grace and Lexie, hit back-to-back singles and then Miss RBI, Carter hit into a fielder’s choice plating Anna Grace.   Two batters later, Bolinger singled to right scoring Lexie to give the Lady Dawgs a 6-1 lead after two innings.

Meek struck for two runs in the fifth inning. Meek had three hits to include a long triple to right field in the inning. After four and a half innings, Addison led 6-3.

Addison got one of the runs back. Evans singled and then Kaylie Calloway laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Evans to second. Two batters later, Lexie was hit by a pitch and then RBI Carter singled to center plating Evans. Baker singled but a runner was thrown out at second to end the threat. After five, Addison led 7-3.

Meek was held scoreless the final two innings and the Lady Dawgs plated four more runs to take the 11-3 win.
